i took this photo when i was a freshman in high school. everyone in the class was supposed to take a picture at the same time one day to get a snap shot of time. i choose the railroad because it was once the state of the art mode of transportation, but now more tracks seem lonely.

this photo was taken as an exercise in understanding how shutter speed could be used as an artistic tool as opposed to a mechanical tool. i took this photo in my dorm room with every single light i had focused on the area where the ball would land. it took my desk lamp setup a few inches from the camera to provide enough light for this shot to be possible.

this is another photo taken during my high school days. the funny part about it was that i was actually trying to capture cars as they went by, but my finger slipped and i got this shot. it ended up being my favorite from the set, something about the rickety house on the quite street seemed peaceful while there was something coming from the other side of the frame.

i am a big hendrix fan, there's no getting around it. i really enjoyed the different textures of this photo. the solid, mechanical guitar body set against a flowing american flag. opposites in so many ways, but working together really well in this frame.

i'm really happy about the time of day when i showed up to take this photo. the setting sun just gave great color to the entire frame. the buoy took on human form sitting there looking on into the sea, almost awaiting a chance to get back out to the open water.

i had always wanted to get a good look at the ted williams seat and i finally got my chance during game 4 of the 2008 alds. a friend offered us tickets, but we needed to be down at fenway early to get them. i'm glad we were, because it gave me a chance to snap this photo with no one around.

i love to take my camera with me and just walk the city streets. some days are nicer than others, but i'm actually very happy with the overcast skies in this photo. i think bright blue skies would have taken away from the stoic, serious nature of the statue.

this is the photograph i was trying to take so many years ago when i took "on coming" instead. i've always enjoyed taking pictures at night, and kenmore square proved to be a perfect location. timing the sign to be perfectly lit while have cars whizzing by was tough, but i finally nailed it.
